I'm an avid naturalist, reformed hippy, former environmental science research assistant, 3-time parachutist, hiker, canoeist, camper, fan of Monty Python, future hedgehog owner, & lover of fine wine. I'm most at home in nature, whether that's out on a 10-mile hike in the lovely Columbia Gorge, paddling in our fine waters, or weeding in my yard.     

My botanical path took shape when I was young... climbing trees in California and skirting lily pads in Oregon lakes. I've worked with plants in one way or another since 1988 and am always awed by the diversity and beauty of our 'photosynthetic friends'.
